INTRODUCING OUR SPORTS PREDICTOR GAME

As we continue to build out VEXT, we are today announcing the launch of Predict, our new exciting sports predictor game that enhances the race day experience! Make the right predictions and you could find yourself winning VEXT! This article will break down this new exciting feature in more detail. Let’s get started!

THE GAME

The Predict game involves making weekly predictions on some of your favourite series by answering questions based on live sporting events including Formula 1, Formula E, Extreme E, Esports and more. Players are awarded points for correctly predicting the answers to each of the questions. Prizes are distributed to the top 10 players who score the most points in each game.

PLACE YOUR PREDICTIONS

You’ll be able to see a list of games currently available to enter with each having a dedicated prize pool.

The window to enter the Predict game will close at the official starting time of the sporting event.

Each game you play comes with the option of using an extra life. These can only be used once per game. Extra lives allow you to get points for one of the questions even if you get it wrong.

Once you’ve entered a game you will be asked to complete a series of multiple-choice questions. After you have made you have made your selection, move on to the next question.

Once you have gone through and answered all the main questions, you will have to take on the tie-breaker!

The tie-breaker is the most challenging question, which has been created to limit the likelihood of players finishing with the same number of points. Therefore the tie-breaker means that if two or more players are tied on points, whoever is closest to the answer on the tie-breaker will be placed higher up in the leaderboard.

CONFIRM YOUR PREDICTIONS

When you submit your predictions some games will be free to enter and others will require you to pay 1 VEXT.

Please note that once you have confirmed your answers, these will be locked in and can not be changed, therefore always make sure that you are happy with your answers before proceeding.

Once your predictions have been locked in, you can sit back and enjoy the live action of the race!

THE RESULTS

All winners of the Predict game will have their rewards distributed to them on the following Monday after the sporting event has taken place.
To see how you performed, head over to the leaderboard to see where you ranked in the standings and to see a breakdown of your questions with the correct answers.

CLAIM PRIZES

Prizes can be won by either finishing in the top 10 of individual games or in the top 10 of the monthly leaderboard.

All winners of the Predict game will have their rewards distributed to them on the same day that the results are updated.

WHAT IS PREDICT?

Predict is a game where you make predictions on your favourite motorsport series, attempting to determine the correct result before the event has happened. Those who score the highest number of points will be awarded VEXT.

WHAT ARE EXTRA LIVES?

If used within a game, extra lives provide the opportunity to still score points on a question, even if you get the answer wrong. Using an extra life will increase the likelihood of you winning. You can only use one extra life per game.

WHAT IS THE TIE-BREAKER?

The tie-breaker is the hardest question in any prediction game, which means that if two or more players are tied on points, whoever is closest to the answer of the tie-breaker will be placed higher up in the leaderboard.

HOW DO I PLAY PREDICT?

To play predict, you must answer all the questions including the tie-breaker and submit your predictions as shown in the “PLACE YOUR PREDICTIONS” and “CONFIRM YOUR PREDICTIONS” sections above.

HOW IS MY LEADERBOARD POSITION DETERMINED?

Your place in the leaderboard is decided through a points-based system. Points are awarded for every question answered correctly, the more points you score, the higher your position on the leaderboard. If your points are tied, then your leaderboard position will also take into consideration your performance in the tie-breaker.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY REWARD?

If you score within the top 10 of an individual game or the monthly leaderboard then your VEXT tokens will be sent to your account the day after the event.

AM I ABLE TO CHANGE MY PREDICTIONS ONCE I HAVE SUBMITTED THEM? 

No, once you have confirmed your answers, these are locked in and can not be changed. Please make sure that you are happy with your answers before submitting them.
