British squad in full pursuit of the Extreme E title in Chile

Veloce Racing returns to the site of Extreme E's maiden South American event for this weekend’s Antofagasta Minerals Copper X Prix (2-3 December), where the third-placed outfit will fight for its maiden championship win.

The team will be fighting for the Extreme E Season 3 championship title in style with a special one-off chrome livery. As part of the recently launched VEXT, token holders were invited to choose a livery for the last race of the season. The winning chrome design will be applied to Veloce Racing's ODYSSEY 21, and accompanied by VEXT-inspired purple team kit.

In Extreme E's most competitive season to-date, four of the top five teams have taken two X Prix wins each this year. Molly Taylor and Kevin Hansen are amongst these victors, with first place finishes in both Saudi Arabia and Scotland.

Back-to-back events in Sardinia over the summer saw the London-based team pushing hard for valuable championship points. Keeping championship glory within reach, Hansen and Taylor cemented their place in the top three with a podium at the Island X Prix in September.

Ready to give it their all this weekend, the British squad are ready to hit the ground running. Kitted out in a new livery and race suits chosen by VEXT token holders, Veloce will bring the fight to their closest rivals the ACCIONA | SAINZ XE Team, who lead the overall standings, and Rosberg X Racing, who sit just ahead in second place.

The vote for a reflective chrome livery for Chile is one of several proposals already introduced via VEXT, and marks an innovative example of Web3 and real-world racing coming together to progress Veloce in a direction that appeals to fans, having included them in the process.

Veloce Racing is set to take on the Antofagasta Minerals Copper X Prix in style, at an event which could prove the most nail-biting yet. The final event of the team's best season yet promises a thrilling showdown as the title race comes down to the wire.

Daniel Bailey, CEO, Veloce Racing, said: "We've had a dream season so far, and to come from behind to take the championship win would be the perfect ending. It has been a while since we crossed the line in first-place, and we're hungrier than ever to get on the top step this weekend to collect as many points as possible. Everyone has worked extremely hard to ensure that we keep competing at the top, and the team deserves to end the season on a high."

Molly Taylor, Veloce Racing driver, said: "We hit the ground running with a win in Saudi Arabia at the start of the year and we've enjoyed a lot of success this season. To finish with another win here in Chile would be incredible. The level of competition has been so high this year, but Kevin and I and the whole team have supported each other and worked hard to stay in the top three of the standings. We'll give it everything we've got to finish at the top of the table this weekend."

Kevin Hansen, Veloce Racing driver, said: "We had to fight hard at both double-headers in Sardinia, but it paid off with a podium in Round 7 to keep our title fight alive. The team learnt a lot and Molly and I will be putting all of those lessons to work in these final two rounds in Chile. We're ready to get back to winning ways in this Copper X Prix - and hopefully it's the championship win!"
